An accumulation of tasks or work that has not yet been completed; in Agile, a prioritized list of features or requirements.
A 'product backlog' is a living document that grows and changes as new requirements are discovered.
The story behind the word. In the 1600s, a 'backlog' was the largest log placed at the back of a fireplace. It was meant to burn slowly and keep the fire going overnight. In the 1880s, it began to mean something kept in reserve, and later, work that had piled up.
